SUMMARY NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
BELMONT FIRE DISTRICT
TOWNS OF AMITY AND WARD, ALLEGANY COUNTY, NEW YORK
TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF BELMONT FIRE DISTRICT, Towns of Amity and Ward, Allegany County, New York:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to the Town Law of the State of New York that a special election of the qualified voters of the Belmont Fire District (“Fire District”) will be held at the Belmont Fire Department firehouse at 80 Schuyler Street, Belmont, New York in the Fire District on January 6, 2026, between the hours of 6:00 o’clock p.m. and 9:00 o’clock p.m. for the purpose of voting upon the following proposition:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
SHALL THE RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE BELMONT FIRE DISTRICT, ALLEGANY COUNTY, NEW YORK (THE “FIRE DISTRICT”), DECLARING VACANT PROPERTY LOCATED ON HOOD ROAD IN THE TOWN OF AMITY SURPLUS AND NO LONGER NECESSARY FOR THE USE AND PURPOSES OF THE FIRE DISTRICT AND THE SAME BE SOLD UPON SUCH FURTHER TERMS OR CONDITIONS AS MAY BE IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE FIRE DISTRICT AS DETERMINED BY THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS, BE APPROVED?

Those who are qualified to vote on the aforesaid proposition are qualified voters who shall have resided in said Fire District for thirty days next preceding such election.

To provide fiduciary support to the Belmont Fire Company and public education and awareness to ensure the safety of all residents and visitors.
VISION
To serve a community that practices Fire safety and well-being supported by a well-trained and outfitted Fire Company.
OUR GOALS
We exist to equip the Belmont Fire Company with up-to-date and well-maintained/functional equipment to support public safety throughout the district and surrounding communities.
We seek to improve the Belmont Fire Company's ISO score to lower Home owner insurance premiums through the Belmont Fire District.
